Gail Collins reminds us how our memories begin to fade, and what is now astonishing was both commonplace and embraced just 30 or 50 years ago. What is more shocking? That women today recognize we need change, but few know how to actually effect change given the obstacles and a culture so hostile to letting women 'in.' That inner sanctum is too male yet no one has a solution that includes more than women by themselves (think Lean In) or laws (think 1970's affirmative action quotas).
