As we grow older, and it seems time to rewire (please note I did not use the word retire!), the image of a baton comes to mind. Yet anyone who's ever run a relay race and had to pass the baton, knows this is far from an easy feat. In fact, a number of challenges are present:
1. What? I have to pass this baton? The one I've grown so very fond of, firmly attached to, and in fact, in so many ways, it is my identity.
2. Passing a baton in a relay race requires slowing down just enough to allow the next racer to get a firm grip, but also maintaining enough speed so the team stays in the race.
