I am a Woman, a poem by Tanya Brown
Forums:
I am a woman
There are spaces between the spaces in the soul
where life's disappointments lie
There are moments between moments where uncertainty resides
My heart has chambers and rooms where my small child cries
Yet I am a woman
Life is created between my thighs
Yet I am a woman
Breast heavy with promise
My soul constantly at unrest
Who shall deliver me
She,
My sister of many faces has reached out for me
An invitation delivered
I accept
I am surrounded
My sister has a sister and now they are mine
I am a woman
I am a woman
Remembered strength and joy with my sisters by my side
There are moments between moments where the light again shines
There are spaces between spaces with room for me to rise.
