Impact of Sandy

The incredible devastation, the loss of life, and an acute sense of vulnerability are almost too overwhelming to take in. The heroic actions of so many are heartening, reminding us of our interdependence and interconnectedness. No power or water at our home in Union Square until late tomorrow (maybe), but I'm  feeling a tremendous sense of gratitude for the love and care of family. Taking a shower at my sister's was a joy, seeing my granddaughter giggle this morning in Brooklyn (where they did not lose power!) filled up my senses, and being so well protected by my husband every step of the way these past four days made me count my blessings!
